The usual recommended dose is 50 mg taken as needed, approximately 30 to 60 minutes before sexual activity. However, the medication may be taken any time from 4 hours to half an hour before sexual activity. Based on the effectiveness and side effects of the medication, the dose may be increased to 100 mg or decreased to 25 mg.
The maximum recommended dose is 100 mg and it is not recommended to take more than one dose per day. Sildenafil may be taken with or without food, but taking it with a high-fat meal may increase the time before the medication starts working.
Many things can affect the dose of a medication that a person needs, such as body weight, other medical conditions, and other medications. If your doctor has recommended a dose different from the ones listed here, do not change the way that you are taking the medication without consulting your doctor.
It is important to take Apo Sildenafil exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take higher doses of Apo Sildenafil than those prescribed by your doctor. Contact your doctor if you take a greater dose of sildenafil than prescribed.
Store Apo Sildenafil in its original package at room temperature, protect it from moisture, and keep it out of the reach of children.Do not dispose of medications in wastewater (e.g. down the sink or in the toilet) or in household garbage. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medications that are no longer needed or have expired.
The recommended adult dose of sildenafil for pulmonary hypertension is 20 mg 3 times daily. Doses should be taken approximately 6 to 8 hours apart.
Sildenafil may be taken with or without food.
The solution for injection is used to continue treatment with sildenafil when a person with pulmonary hypertension is temporarily unable to take sildenafil by mouth. The maximum dose of this form of sildenafil is 10 mg given by intravenous (into a vein) injection 3 times a day. This dose of sildenafil is approximately equal in activity to 20 mg of sildenafil taken by mouth.

Each white-to-off-white, round, biconvex, film-coated tablet, debossed with "SD 20" on one side and plain on other, contains 20 mg sildenafil, as sildenafil citrate. Nonmedicinal ingredients: colloidal silicon dioxide, corn starch, lactose, magnesium stearate, povidone, and sodium starch glycolate. Tablet coating: hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, polyethylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulphate, and titanium dioxide.

Grapefruit juice: Grapefruit juice can increase the amount of sildenafil in your bloodstream. Do not drink grapefruit juice when taking Apo Sildenafil.
Hearing problems: If you experience a sudden decrease or loss of hearing you should seek medical attention immediately.
Heart conditions: If you have or have had heart disease or a heart attack or stroke, you should speak to your doctor before taking any medication for erectile dysfunction. If chest pains, dizziness, or nausea are experienced during sex, the exertion should be stopped and your doctor informed.
Kidney problems: If you have poor kidney function you may need lower doses of Apo Sildenafil. Kidney Disease or reduced kidney function may cause Apo Sildenafil to build up in the body, causing side effects. If you have kidney problems, discuss with your doctor how Apo Sildenafil may affect your medical condition, how your medical condition may affect the dosing and effectiveness of Apo Sildenafil, and whether any special monitoring is needed.
Liver function: If you have poor liver function you may need lower doses of Apo Sildenafil. Liver disease or reduced liver function may cause Apo Sildenafil to build up in the body, causing side effects. If you have liver problems, discuss with your doctor how Apo Sildenafil may affect your medical condition, how your medical condition may affect the dosing and effectiveness of Apo Sildenafil, and whether any special monitoring is needed.
Nitrate-containing medications: Sildenafil should never be taken with any medications that contain nitrates. Blood pressure may suddenly drop to life-threatening levels if sildenafil is taken with any nitrate-containing medication (e.g., nitroglycerin tablets, spray, or patches) or any other nitrates (e.g., isosorbide dinitrate or amyl nitrite "poppers"). Dizziness, fainting spells, heart attack, or stroke may be experienced.
If use of a nitrate-containing medication is considered medically necessary, you must wait 48 hours after the last dose of sildenafil before taking a nitrate, and only under close medical supervision.
Penis deformation: As with other medications for erectile dysfunction, men with an anatomical deformation of the penis such as angulation, cavernosal fibrosis, or Peyronie's disease should be closely monitored by their doctors if they take this medication.
Prolonged erection: If an erection lasts longer than 4 hours (a rare occurrence), seek immediate medical assistance. If this condition is not treated quickly, tissue damage and permanent loss of the ability to have an erection could result.
Prostate problems: Tell your doctor if you are taking medications, such as alpha-blockers (e.g., Doxazosin), to treat prostate problems, as the combination of these medications with sildenafil may add to the blood pressure-lowering effect of these medications.
Sexually transmitted infections: Sildenafil does not protect against sexually transmitted infections such as HIV.
Vision problems/eye conditions: If you experience a sudden loss of vision in one or both eyes or other vision related problems, contact your doctor immediately. Vision loss may be partial or complete. While in some cases the condition may improve over time, it can also be permanent.
This rare condition is more likely to occur if you have heart disease, high blood pressure, High Cholesterol, Diabetes, or eye problems, are more than 50 years old, or if you smoke. If you have any eye conditions, such as retinitis pigmentosa or non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic Neuropathy (NAION), tell your doctor.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding: Sildenafil is not intended for use by women.
Children: Sildenafil is not intended for use by children or adolescents under 18 years of age.
Seniors: If you are 65 years of age or older, you may need a lower dose of Apo Sildenafil.

If you are taking medication for high blood pressure, discuss with your doctor how Pms Sildenafil R may affect your medical condition, how your medical condition may affect the dosing and effectiveness of Pms Sildenafil R, and whether any special monitoring is needed.
Grapefruit juice: Grapefruit juice can increase the amount of sildenafil in your blood. Do not drink grapefruit juice while taking this medication.
Heart or blood vessel problems: Sildenafil can make heart or blood vessel problems worse. If you have had a heart attack, stroke, or life-threatening abnormal heart rhythm within the last 6 months, or have angina, chest pain, an irregular heartbeat, or high or low blood pressure, discuss with your doctor how Pms Sildenafil R may affect your medical condition, how your medical condition may affect the dosing and effectiveness of Pms Sildenafil R, and whether any special monitoring is needed.
Liver function: If you have liver problems, discuss with your doctor how Pms Sildenafil R may affect your medical condition, how your medical condition may affect the dosing and effectiveness of Pms Sildenafil R, and whether any special monitoring is needed. People with severely reduced liver function should not use Pms Sildenafil R.
Lung problems: Sildenafil is not recommended for people with a form of high blood pressure in the lungs called pulmonary veno-occlusive disease. If you have pulmonary veno-occlusive disease or experience sudden cough, shortness of breath, chest pain, or rapid breathing, talk to your doctor before taking Pms Sildenafil R.
Nitrate-containing medications: Sildenafil should never be taken with any medications that contain nitrates. Blood pressure may suddenly drop to life-threatening levels if sildenafil is taken with any nitrate-containing medication (e.g., nitroglycerin tablets, spray, or patches) or any other nitrates (e.g., isosorbide dinitrate or amyl nitrite "poppers"). Pms Sildenafil R can cause partial or complete vision loss that may be temporary or permanent. If you experience a sudden loss of vision in one or both eyes or other vision-related problems, contact your doctor immediately. If you do experience vision changes, do not drive or operate machinery until your vision returns to normal.
Pregnancy: Pms Sildenafil R should not be used during pregnancy unless the benefits outweigh the risks. If you become pregnant while taking Pms Sildenafil R, contact your doctor immediately.
Breast-feeding: Pms Sildenafil R may pass into breast milk. If you are a breast-feeding mother and are taking sildenafil, it may affect your baby. Talk to your doctor about whether you should continue breast-feeding.
Children: The safety and effectiveness of this medication have not been established for children with pulmonary hypertension.
