Erelzi Sensoready How to Take

Erelzi Sensoready (Etanercept) belongs to the class of medications called biological response modifiers ("biologics") or tumour necrosis factor inhibitors (TNF blockers). It is used to treat adults with active ankylosing spondylitis and moderate-to-severe Rheumatoid Arthritis. Erelzi Sensoready (Etanercept) may be used to treat adults with Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA), when other treatments have not provided enough relief. It has been shown to decrease the rate of damage that often occurs with PsA and improve physical function. It reduces symptoms of chronic moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis (PsO) for adults and chronic severe psoriasis for children ages 4 to 17 who are candidates for light therapy or other medications.. It is also used to reduce signs and symptoms of moderate-to-severe juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) for children and adolescents for whom other treatments have not been successful.

People with these conditions produce extra amounts of proteins called tumour necrosis factor (TNF), causing pain, inflammation, and damage. Erelzi Sensoready (Etanercept) works by blocking the production of TNF and reducing inflammation in the joints. The benefits of using this medication may be seen as early as one week after the start of treatment for adults and 2 weeks for children with JIA. When used as treatment for plaque psoriasis, improvement is often seen within 4 weeks. The full effect is usually achieved by 3 months.

Erelzi Sensoready (Etanercept) may be available under multiple brand names and/or in several different forms. Any specific brand name of Erelzi Sensoready (Etanercept) may not be available in all of the forms or approved for all of the conditions discussed here. As well, some forms of Erelzi Sensoready (Etanercept) may not be used for all of the conditions discussed here.

Your doctor may have suggested this medication for conditions other than those listed in these drug information articles. If you have not discussed this with your doctor or are not sure why you are taking this medication, speak to your doctor. Do not stop taking Erelzi Sensoready (Etanercept) without consulting your doctor.

Do not give Erelzi Sensoready (Etanercept) to anyone else, even if they have the same symptoms as you do. It can be harmful for people to take this medication if their doctor has not prescribed it.

Erelzi Sensoready Dosage

The recommended dose of Erelzi Sensoready (Etanercept) for adults to treat ankylosing spondylitis, rheumatoid arthritis, and psoriatic arthritis is 50 mg injected subcutaneously (under the skin), once a week. It is usually injected in the front of the thigh or abdomen.

The recommended starting dose of Erelzi Sensoready (Etanercept) for adults to treat plaque psoriasis is 50 mg injected subcutaneously twice a week for 3 months. After 3 months, the frequency is reduced to once a week.

The dose for children who weigh less than 63 kg is calculated by the doctor and based on body weight. The maximum dose is 50 mg weekly.

Many things can affect the dose of medication that a person needs, such as body weight, other medical conditions, and other medications.
