Tomudex (Raltitrexed) is usually given once every 3 weeks by an intravenous infusion, which usually takes about 15 minutes. If extreme side effects or toxicity occur, the next dose is usually not given until all ill effects from the medication have gone away.

Very careful handling of Tomudex (Raltitrexed) is required. It is always administered in a hospital or similar setting with access to sterile equipment for preparation.

Your doctor may want you to drink extra fluids while taking Tomudex (Raltitrexed) in order to help you pass more fluid and protect your kidneys.

As well as interfering with the genetic material DNA of cancer cells, Tomudex (Raltitrexed) can interfere with some of your normal cells. This may cause a number of side effects such as mouth sores.
