You will probably need to have regular tests while taking Salazopyrin Entab (Sulfasalazine) to make sure that your kidneys are working properly. People who have severe kidney problems should not use Salazopyrin Entab (Sulfasalazine).
Liver disease: Salazopyrin Entab (Sulfasalazine) may reduce liver function and can cause liver failure. Staining: Salazopyrin Entab (Sulfasalazine) may produce an orange-yellow colour in the urine. Similar discoloration of the skin and yellow staining of soft contact lenses have occasionally been reported.
Tablets in stool: If you notice intact enteric-coated tablets in your stool, contact your doctor.
Pregnancy: Salazopyrin Entab (Sulfasalazine) should not be used during pregnancy unless the benefits outweigh the risks. If you become pregnant while taking Salazopyrin Entab (Sulfasalazine), contact your doctor immediately.
Breast-feeding: Salazopyrin Entab (Sulfasalazine) passes into breast milk. If you are a breast-feeding mother and are taking Salazopyrin Entab (Sulfasalazine), it may affect your baby. Talk to your doctor about whether you should continue breast-feeding.
Children: Salazopyrin Entab (Sulfasalazine) is not recommended for children with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.
